In sales we always train people never to prejudge a client or a prospect. You should always treat people the same and don’t be fooled by first impressions.

The mantra don’t pre judge is not just in sales but is with most things. I have been reminded of this recently in my trip here to Perth.

I have been kind of busy with a number of projects and although we had planned to have a holiday and had even booked the flights some time ago I was not looking forward to it.

I love Bali and was wrapped up in what I was doing. then I started hearing the rumours! It is so hot in Perth you cannot breath, there are loads of fires, there is a big drought in Western Australia and watch out for the spiders and snakes..

I was thinking why would anyone want to got to a place that has the only salt water crocodiles in the World, the only poisonous mammal, the most poisonous spiders and snakes and jelly fish with 3 metre tentacles that paralyse you??

So, now my desire to travel there was less than positive. in fact I had already decided that I did not like it and was happy to change the flights and go off to Hong Kong instead.

It was only that although we could change the flight dates or times, we could not change the destination and being a tight old git, I did not want to waste them so with a sulky face and the odd whinge I boarded the plane to Perth.

Well, what a place it is fantastic, hot days and cool evenings perfect. The beaches are safe and clean, there are so many Parks and BBQ areas and walk ways and National Parks it is amazing. The people are fantastic too, so friendly and it is a very multi cultured society too. The lifestyle is amazing, everyone is out and about doing something.

It has definitely given me a slap in the chops when it comes to pre judging. My family and I would mover here in a heart beat, but I don’t think they will have me. especially if they had heard my earlier comments.

That will teach me to talk about and comment on something I have absolutely no knoweldge or expereince of… Or will it?

I have decided that I am going to put together a whole training course starting from the very beginning.

So many people try to make it online and fail at the first hurdle. There are so many opportunities out there and it is easy to get carried away, I know I was that man.

It reminds me of the phrase from bugs life. One of the moth’s says “Dont look at the light…” The other one answers I can’t help it… It is so beautiful…”

The sales letters have that effect on me, well they used to. I realised that what works for one is not necessarily going to work for another!

so many of them are so hyped up and over the top but these sales letters work, which is why they do them.

I have had a program in mind called the start smart system and I am going to do my best to get it up and finished within the next few weeks.

From there I will be doing a training course on researching a market, choosing a product or niche, keyword research, setting up a website installing relevant software, configuring that software, promoting your website using articles, web 2.0, blog posting, pay per click and banner advertising.

The thing to remember is to start with the end in mind. Think of what you want out of it and where you want to be with your online business in a year from now. How much time do you want to spend on it, do you want a big multi million pound or dollar business or just a little extra to help pay for those extras.

Working from home and making money online can earn you a small fortune if you get it right.

It is not brain science but you do need to follow a formula and you are always better off with a mentor to guide and motivate you to when things get tough as they inevitably do.

Internet marketing is not for everyone but if you think it is for you then keep an eye on the Education Station which will be filling up very soon.

Daniel, my youngest son, who is 11 has got his first site up and running.

The Game of Bakugan You have a team of brawlers and each have their own bakugan’s then they have bakugan ability cards and bakugan gate cards there are also traps. so complicated and not only that I cannot read the text on the cards.. Old age again!!

I am sure games were not as complicated as this when I was younger. Monopoly, Cluedo and ludo was my staple gaming diet before the onsite of basic video games like bat and ball, pacman and space invaders. Those were the days.

Anyways, the website is a wordpress blog, like most of my sites and Dan has designed the website himself in Artisteer and created the structure and content all himself.

We have added adsens to the site and next we will be adding amazon so he can start making some money.

Most of the pages are already indexed and now I have to teach him how to build backlinks to the site.

I am really proud of what he has done and hope he makes some money from it.

If he keeps on like this and he builds a few more cash generating websites, he could well be earning more money per week than some adults earn.

The beauty of these sites is once they are done there is little else needs doing to them they just grow and keep generating money.

Even if they only make $10 per day, if he can build 10 of those sites over the next 12 months he will be on $100 per day passive income.

Well another successful website in the search engine results pages. www.BaliTradeDirectory.com is now number on in google. This is another brand new domain name and website. “sourcing products Bali” (without the quotes) is top as well as a number of other search terms related to trading in Bali “products from Bali, trade in Bali. etc etc.

Getting up the search engines is not difficult if you do it properly. Structuring the website well and adding relevant content that is themed around your keyword.

Using social bookmarking is the best way to get started in your promotional efforts and then follow this up with social networking. I have not even begun using the social networks yet to consolidate the rankings that the website has.

It goes to show that you do not need old domains with thousands of backlinks to get you off the mark, but a well structured website and valuable content.

Always start with long tail keywords and once you start to see results then you can start working on the shorter keyword phrases.

We are already there (position 6 as of today) for jewelry products from Bali but not quite there for Bali jewelery or Bali Silver Jewelery.

Considering the site is only a few short months old it goes to show that it can be done and the results are not too shabby in my humble opinion.

I have also been working on a new site call www.searchenginestratagems.com which aimed at helping people get ranked in the search engines. There is a lot of information in the Education Station part of the site and details of the services that we plan to offer.

The site is still work in progress but we are nearly there. A few videos and some more training to go in there and we will be ready to launch.
